New Vaping Laws

With vaping recognized as a growing health hazard and illegal consumption issue among young people, Lexington Public Schools would like to remind and update our families and community about current and upcoming measures to address these concerns.

  • Student use or possession of vaping products will be addressed as outlined in student handbooks.

  • Installation of vape detectors to assist with keeping our campus vaping-free has begun.

  • Beginning November 1st, Oklahoma statute 10A O.S. § 2-8-224 will require each school vaping incident be reported to state law enforcement with up to $200 fines and possible suspension of drivers license.

A conversation with your student about the dangers of vaping is a great way to support our joint efforts.  School counseling staff are always willing to provide cessation resources and referral information.
